| With Dave having made a few trips to Tokyo in the late 90s, we knew enough about getting around and where to go to feel confident that we could get our money's worth by heading into the city during our 10 hour layover. We caught the express train to Ueno, an area featuring a large and pleasant park full of historic Buddhist temples, a five storey pagoda, the Tokyo Zoo, and several significant museums (including the impressive National Museum we visited) and galleries. On the other side of the station is a bustling market area, although Flick was disappointed to find that the imitation designer label gear was in fact almost as expensive as the real thing: that's Japan for you.
